Chicago, Illinois -- For the 18th consecutive summer, the Eastland Disaster Historical Society will host the anniversary commemoration for Chicago’s greatest loss-of-life tragedy on Sunday, July 23, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. We hope that you will join us at the Chicago Riverwalk for this year’s commemoration ceremony. Whether you have joined us in previous years or are considering attending for your first time, all are welcome to participate.

As part of the ceremony this year we will have two special guests who will make a brief announcement about a major project on which we are collaborating. Captain Dave Truitt, Chairman of the Chicago Marine Heritage Association, and Harvey Moshman of Moshman Productions, Inc., will briefly announce and share the details regarding the project.

Immediately following the ceremony, we invite you join us for a delightful lunch at The Kitchen, located directly across the river in the historic Reid Murdoch Building. Seating is very limited, so please reserve your spot today by purchasing a lunch voucher for $15 (the entire amount of the voucher is applied toward your lunch bill).

The ceremony and the lunch are great opportunities to connect with other individuals and families whose family legacies all intersected on July 24, 1915. Please review our schedule for the weekend, then make your plans and purchase your tickets as soon as possible. We hope you will join us on July 23rd and be part of the growing public audience that remembers the tens of thousands of people who were involved in the Eastland Disaster while commemorating the history of the tragedy.
