Mary Hill had worked at Western Electric's Hawthorne Works for six and a half years, working in department 3307 as a factory hand. Her brother, Henry, worked elsewhere as a tinner. Mary was twelve years junior to Henry, and they both perished aboard the Eastland.
Mary and Henry's mother Josephine had passed away approximately five years earlier, and their father Joseph had not worked in approximately four years. Their married sister plus her husband and child lived in the Hill home at 1343 South 56th Court. Mary and Henry's salaries plus their brother-in-law's salary went to support and maintain their household.
The funeral for Mary and Henry was on Tuesday, July 27 from their home to St. Attracta's Parish in Cicero, then to Mt. Carmel in Hillside for burial.
