About the Collection
The Eastland Disaster Historical Society (EDHS) has created an ever-growing collection of photos,  documents, and artifacts of the people and activities that comprise the history of the Eastland Disaster. 

This unique, 1-of-a-kind collection is available free to the public.

- The collection in digital format is available in the Gallery of the EDHS website.

- The physical collection is available at the renown Newberry Library in Chicago.

ROBERT P. JERICH COLLECTION
The Robert P. Jerich Collection contains two distinct parcels: (1) historical documents from the Western Electric Company that are related to the Eastland Disaster; and (2) the Western Electric Company's The Hawthorne Microphone publication that was issued from January 1922 through June-July 1985. The first parcel is archived at the Newberry Library while the second parcel is archived at the Chicago History Museum. Both parcels are available online free of charge at Your Next Chapter in their digital Collections.

RUSSELL L. LEWIS MEMORIAL COLLECTION
The Russell L. Lewis Memorial Collection contains nearly 400 unique photographs of the S.S. Eastland and the Eastland Disaster. This collection is archived at the Newberry Library and is available online in their Digital Collections.

EARL E. GALLAS COLLECTION
The Earl E. Gallas Collection contains the historical documents from the Cook County Coroner's Office as well as the undertaking establishments that serviced the victims of the Eastland Disaster. This collection is archived at the Newberry Library and is available online free of charge at Your Next Chapter in their digital Collections.

WILLIAM L. BRADEN COLLECTION
