Antonie (pictured center), Julie (pictured left), and Marie (pictured right) Zastera looked forward to spending a wonderful day at the Western Electric picnic. They were going to attend with many of their friends including their neighbors, the Polivkas.

Tragically like many others, the Zasteras and the Polivkas never made it to the picnic. The Zasteras also never returned home -- all three girls perished on the Eastland. The Polivkas, former neighbors to the Zasteras, were pall bearers at their friends' funerals.
